BVP Goes Pink… Breast Cancer Awareness Month {Community} | Sarnia Natural Light Photographer

Can you believe it… October is upon us! The leaves are changing, the kiddos are running around in their tuques and falls coats and the thoughts of a yummy turkey dinner are on my mind (Canada Thanksgiving is October 10th for my U.S. friends). October is very special for another reason… Breast Cancer Awareness Month! As you will soon see, pink ribbons will be everywhere and you will be able to find almost any household or personal item in that beautiful color. Take it from me, I even have a steam mop that is pink with proceeds from my purchase benefiting Breast Cancer research!

Breast Cancer Awareness is something that has hit way too close to home for me. My Grandma Mimi was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July of 2007. She began chemotherapy after having surgery in August of that year. It was awful to watch someone you love so dearly have to endure that type of pain… fight that battle! So when her sister, my Auntie Carol was diagnosed the following year, 2008 it was devastating! We rallied around them and showed them our family support as the fought their battles… and won them!!! My Grandma just had her annual testing done a few weeks ago and we are so proud to say “4 years Cancer Free!!!

(please keep reading below)

This specific situation has raised a lot of questions for our family… 2 sisters… both with breast cancer! Is it genetic? Is it a mere coincidence? Will my mom suffer the same fate? Will I? I can tell you that with the hard work of foundations like the Susan G. Komen For the Cure and the support of the Breast Cancer Society I know we are headed in the right direction. HUGE strides are being made in the fight for a cure and it is all made possible through gifts and donations. I could not just sit back and watch this month pass by without helping. That is why BVP (Bonnie V Photography) is going Pink for the month of October!!! 10% of all sessions booked in the month of October as well as 10% of all product purchases will be donated to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada!

Not interested in booking a session… you can still help BVP Go Pink! I am so proud to be offering the GORGEOUS frames from The Organic Bloom! I will take 10% from your purchase of their frames and donate that as well!

If you would like to make a donation on your own please visit the Breast Cancer Society of Canada Donations page.

Thank you so much for you help in spreading awareness and don’t forget to Dress For The Cause on Friday, October 28th!
