I have been looking forward to posting this session, as well as their newborn session for quite some time! Now that I have everything on my website updated, and 100% caught up on sessions and did a major update on my computers I can’t wait to get caught up on my blogging!!

Anja is such a gorgeous mommy! With 2 beautiful boys, she was excited to welcome her 3rd (and possibly final) child to their family. Anja and Dale met when he was playing hockey in Germany. I can totally relate to their story of love and her moving from another Country to Sarnia, Canada! In Germany their style is much more open and natural which I love! There are a few “sneaks” into a few shots I did to commemorate her beautiful body… I wish more of my pregnant mommies would embrace the beauty of what a pregnancy does to their body in a positive light!

Zekveld Family {Family} | Sarnia Family Photographer

My last post showed my “Fun at the Market” mini-sessions I did at the end of the summer. The Zekveld family was so kind to let me use their apple orchard at Zekvelds Garden Market. I thought it would only be appropriate to get some photos of their 4 kiddos! Time flies by so fast that I think it is important to get these photos at any age, not just when they are little. Jessica also has developed a love for playing the violin so I thought this was perfect!

Last year the majority of my newborn sessions were for first-time parents. This summer has been all about the siblings! It has been so fun to watch the excitement in the little ones over the arrival of their first, 2nd or even 3rd, sibling! It took a little time for Cohen to warm up to me, but once he did it became pure magic!! He is such a fun 2 year old and watching him touch his mommy’s belly, play with the truck, rocks and the sand takes me to those moments with my own little ones. The fun and innocence in every moment!

Jamie and Katie, I can’t wait to meet your little one. I can see the love you have for little Cohen and know that his little brother or sister will be showered in the same type of affection. You have such a beautiful little family… I cant wait to work with you as it grows!

You know what I love more than a sweet couple during a maternity session? A sweet couple plus 2 beautiful kiddos as well! I had the absolute pleasure of working with Nicole & Jason as they eagerly awaited the arrival of their 3rd child. This session & their impending newborn session was special for two reasons. 1) Nicole was referred by her Sister-in-law, Alicia after I did their son Nash’s newborn photos in 2011 (Nash {Newborn} | Sarnia Newborn Photographer) and 2) This was not only their 3rd and last child, but the 1st one to get newborn photos. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard, “Well I didn’t get them done for my 1st so I don’t think it would be fair to get them for my 2nd”, etc. What I hear even more a few weeks later, “Why didn’t I get his/ her newborn photos done!?!?”

For those of you who may end up in this same situation, let me offer you a little advice. I believe each newborn should be treated uniquely! You will find you won’t be able to do everything for your 2nd, 3rd, 5th even 10th that you did for the 1st ones. Take me for example. I have a few thousand photos of my sons 1st year yet only a few hundred of my daughter. It is a proven thing, that the more children you have, the busier you get. So PLEASE take photos as much as you can, even if it is just during a milestone. I started doing photography right around the time my daughter was born, so I have no “professional” shots of my son and the attempt I made at newborn ones of my daughter were quite honestly a disaster. So what will I do when I have a 3rd, 4th or 5th (JK on the 5th. haha, Tim you thought you got your way!!). I will for sure do newborn photos!!! Chances are by the time they turn 18 that may be 1 of the only sessions they have to look back on!

“Fun at the Market” ~ Children’s Mini Sessions ~ Saturday, August 18th {Children} | Sarnia Child Photographer

All right everyone… you spoke, I listened!! Bonnie V Photography Mini-Sessions have arrived!!! On Saturday, August 18th we are having “Fun at the Market”. It will be an amazing little setup in the Orchard at Zekveld’s Garden Market! Complete with a little produce & fruit stand setup, quilt, banner, chair, etc.

Mini-sessions will be held from 4-7pm, and will be done in 30 minute intervals. The cost is $100 and includes your 30 minute session, the setup with all of the goodies, a gallery with 10 fully edited images and a DVD with 5 of your favorite High Resolution Images plus a print release! Get all 10 images on your DVD for only $50 more! Plus, a 15% discount will be given on prints if you decide to get them through me.

Spaces are highly limited and guaranteed to go fast! Payment of the session secures your spot!

New Changes in 2012!!!

Hello to all of my wonderful past and prospective clients!

It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since I began my business, Bonnie V Photography. I never would have imagined when my friends and family urged me to follow my passion, that I would have garnered such success in such a short amount of time. I am so truly blessed and grateful to everyone who had such faith in my abilities and has allowed me to capture such special times in their lives.

Starting out I have photographed high school seniors, families (big and small), grandparents, couples/ engagements, weddings, children, maternity and newborns. I have gotten my business to the point now where I would love to focus on what I have the greatest passion for which is my maternity and newborn clients. There is nothing more amazing to me than the glow on an expectant mothers face, the look in a daddy’s eyes when he rubs the belly of his unborn child, the innocence and mere miracle of a newborn baby with their teeny tiny fingers and toes… it touches me so deeply every time!

So beginning in 2012 I will only be booking 2-3 sessions per month with priority given to Maternity and Newborn sessions. As many of you know I have a daughter who just turned 1 in October and my son will be 3 in April. My family is so dearly important to me that I am making it a priority to balance my work and family life. We all know that can be tricky so it can be a challenge. I am seeing how fast my babies are growing up and really don’t want to look back knowing I missed such a precious time in their lives.

I will do periodic specials (Spring, Fall, etc.) for children, and will of course photograph the babies I have been with since day one! And of course, for my California friends and family I will have a few limited spots available during trips out.

So if you are expecting please contact me to reserve your spot! I am already working on bookings for January, one in March and 2 in June!!! With limited spaces available it is never to early to secure your spot!

I also provide gift certificates if you would like to give someone the gift of photos that they will cherish for a lifetime.

Cooper 50th Anniversary! {Celebrations} | Sarnia Family Photographer

I was so intrigued when Gary contacted me. He wanted me to photograph a very special time in his parents life, their 50th Anniversary! Remembering so fondly my own grandparents Golden Anniversary, I knew I wanted to be a part of their day. What had me so intrigued you may ask? That the family session would consist of 19 people! As many photographers will tell you, photographing groups of this size can pose many questions with the main one being if everyone will be an active participant. As you can see, that was not a problem… at all! The Cooper Family was such an absolute pleasure to work with! They were so kind and had such a positive energy.

Rose and Fred, Congratulations on reaching such a special milestone in your lives. As I was watching you interact with your family it brought to mind one of my favorite country songs…

Have you ever had that moment when you look at two people and just know that they were meant to be together? Or heard a story about how two families have become one and it’s as if it should have always been that way? That is the perfect way to picture Danielle and John… these two were just destined to find one another. It is through their faith in God, their love for eachother and the strong desire and support of family ties that these two have brought together their little families to create one with so much love you could melt.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of such a special day. Danielle you were such a stunning bride, John you looked so handsome and proud and your kiddos were just classically cute. Don’t even get me started on your little man… adorable!

I love when us hard-working mommy’s work together to grow our businesses. I teamed up with the talented Jade Barr of Jady Baby’s to help her promote her 2,000 Fan Giveaway. I was so pleased when Dawn contacted me as the winner of the complimentary session I donated. I thought her request for the session was so unique… a session with her and her grand-babies! To make it even more special, we planned the session when her grand daughter would be visiting from Memphis, TN!

Dawn, thank you so much for dirving all the way from St. Thomas. I truly hope you enjoyed your session… we were able to overcome some car sickness, mosquito swarms and missed bed-times to get some great shots!

As I have said many times, I love my job! I have so much fun during the time I spend with my families and then find myself falling in love with their cute little faces as I edit their photos. I have to say though that the icing on the cake for me is seeing (or in this case hearing) the reaction of your client when they have seen their gallery for the first time! It warms my heart to know that all of my hard work has created a product that gives them so much happiness.

My session with the Gonzalez family was especially special for me. I had the privilege of doing a few photos of little Miss S. only a few days after she came home from the NICU… she was so precious and oh-so-tiny. When I held her I immediately fell in love! Em, your daughter has grown into a beautiful little lady and I am so glad I was able to capture her 1st Birthday. Let’s not forget about big brother D. who I have to say is my little buddy. His energy is contagious and I had so much fun teasing him with gummy worms and chasing him around the park!
